Other Committee · Meeting of July 14, 2026
Nantucket Land Bank approves nearly $350,000 in Lily Pond contracts and hears Sconset park redesign concept. The commission voted unanimously at its July 14 meeting to approve two contract amendments for the Lily Pond restoration project, $20,500 for additional dewatering plan and bid document support, and $327,675 for 18 months of construction administration services, described by a commissioner as roughly 6 percent of total project cost and "less than what most OPMs cost." Landscape designer Julie Jordan, engaged by the Sconset Trust, presented a conceptual plan for the Field of Dreams park at West Sankaty Road and New Sconset Street that would add a looping ADA brick path, native habitat plantings, and a possible accessible parking space; she offered a rough estimate of $250,000 to $300,000 for a full four-lot rehabilitation but stressed no measurements had been taken. Staff also reported the Tom Nevers multi-use path remains on track for completion before next summer, with a formal Land Bank funding request for the section crossing its property expected in late winter or early spring once bid figures are confirmed.
