NANTUCKET -- June 23, 2026, Nantucket Land Bank approves $3,750-a-month social media retainer and votes to demolish lead-paint storage building. The commission voted unanimously at its June 23 meeting to hire Marina Morgan Marketing, run by a Nantucket native with prior Chamber of Commerce experience, on a six-month community growth retainer to create and post content to the Land Bank's Instagram and Facebook accounts, with performance tracked through KPIs. The $3,750-per-month contract was framed by staff as a shift away from what one commissioner called the agency's historical reputation for being "looked at as secret." The commission also voted unanimously to remove a dilapidated on-site storage building containing lead paint and a failing concrete foundation, with a property manager estimating the demolition cost at just under $60,000 including tipping fees. Golf operations staff reported Miacomet Golf Course revenue up 6 percent through the first two weeks of May, with annual membership declining from a high of 421 to an expected final count near 310.
