Nantucket to Pilot One-Way Traffic on Amelia Drive Starting Oct. 5
NANTUCKET — The Town of Nantucket will begin piloting a switch of Amelia Drive to one-way traffic in early October, the biggest item on an otherwise meeting-heavy week that also brings the Select Board, several land-use boards and a bandstand performance to the calendar.
TOWN HALL
Starting the morning of October 5, the town will pilot converting Amelia Drive between Waitt Drive and Ticcoma Way from two-way to one-way traffic, according to a News Flash posted by the town Thursday evening. Traffic will flow southwest toward Ticcoma Way for a three-month trial period, the town said. No additional detail on the reasoning behind the pilot or how residents can weigh in was included in the announcement.
