Nantucket Finance Committee unanimously backs $14 million in town meeting warrant articles. The panel recommended a $825,000 Health and Human Services appropriation, a $5.4 million debt exclusion for Loran Barracks police-housing repairs, and an $8 million debt exclusion for Tom Nevers debris cleanup, all pending voter approval. Council for Human Services chair Veronica Bolchik said requests hit $1.13 million against $650,000 available, prompting a new $100,000 per-grant cap.

Member Christopher Glowacki objected to a bylaw change letting the Planning and Economic Development Commission appoint a non-member to the Contract Review Committee, warning "I just think we're heading in a bad direction," but still voted for it. Police Chief Gibson defended the barracks project against newspaper criticism, calling it "misinformation." Two Boynton Lane land articles were held over pending sponsor Curtis Barnes' attendance.
