Nantucket Housing Office Launches Rooted Renters Program
NANTUCKET — The town's Housing Office used its quarterly newsletter, released Wednesday, to announce a new renter-support initiative called Rooted Renters alongside updates on Lease to Locals funding and the 2026 Housing Production Plan.
TOWN HALL
The Town of Nantucket's quarterly housing newsletter, distributed August 26, centers on the launch of Rooted Renters, a new program aimed at supporting year-round tenants on the island. The newsletter also details continued funding for Lease to Locals, the town's program that pays homeowners to rent to local workers instead of seasonal visitors, and provides an update on the 2026 Housing Production Plan, the town's roadmap for expanding year-round housing stock.
Beyond those two initiatives, the newsletter covers the status of ongoing housing developments around the island and recaps the town's advocacy efforts at the state level on housing policy. Officials did not attach dollar figures or unit counts to the update in the portions of the newsletter reviewed.
